6.30 pm
A lively evening of worship and praise with mostly contemporary music and with Communion. Faithful Biblical preaching is a necessary component of all our worship services.
Eucharist/Holy Communion
The Holy Communion or the Lord's Supper, is a disciples' meal. In it we proclaim the Lord's death until He comes again, and feast upon His living presence amongst us through word and sacrament. Any baptized person, who knows and loves Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and welcome at His table in their own home church are welcome at the Lord's table here. Regarding children, our practice is to encourage parents to prepare their children to receive communion when they sense they are old enough to discern the body (1 Corinthians 11:29). Some prefer to let us prepare them in more formal confirmation classes in their early teens. All are welcome at the communion table to receive a blessing if they have not yet had instruction.
Worship Ministries
Music
At Little Trinity we have no formal choir as such: here we believe that the whole congregation is the choir! At the 10.30 am service, Ruth Fazal is our organist. The Sunday evening service is filled with singing and worship, with a praise band under the direction of Mike Janzen.
Chancel Guild
This group is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the preparation and care of the Lord's table for Holy Communion are looked after each week. This group is also responsible for the co-ordination of the floral donations which enhance our services. New members are always welcome.
Lay Readers
Prayer is one of the Christian's chief callings in life. This group of lay men and women, appointed by the Bishop on the recommendation of the Rector, assist in formal worship. They prepare the "prayers of the people" - some of the most moving times in our service of worship - assist in the administration of Holy Communion and pray with people who come forward to the communion rail after all services.
Lesson Readers
Sidespeople
Each Sunday, the Sidespeople provide assistance to the Duty Warden by handing out orders of service and ushering parishioners to empty pews. They facilitate worship by keeping late comers back until appropriate breaks in the service. They also co-ordinate the flow of people to the Communion rail during communion services.
Sound & Taping
Sunday morning sermons are taped. They are available to members of the congregation at a modest cost.
