Beyond the Doors
Missions
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. The refore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)
Since its beginning, Little Trinity has been striving to know Christ and to make Him known locally and worldwide. Strong support for the work of international missions makes up part of this picture. From medical work in Angola and Zambia to translation work in Papua New Guinea to student ministry on university campuses, the message of the gospel is being heard. We support mission work in Canada too, among street youth in downtown Toronto.
Currently Little Trinity supports a number of missionaries financially as well as in prayer and letter writing. In fact, considering the different time zones, Little T. has someone somewhere in the world working for the Lord at each hour of the day.
For more specific information about our many missionaries, or about our church mission program (the work of the Missions Committee) please contact the church office (416-367-0272) or email Peggy Smith (Chair of the Missions Committee.)
Neighbourhood
The Neighbourhood Committee seeks to answer the question "Who is my neighbour?" A partial answer includes thoughtful and consistent caring shared with the following individuals or groups: Party in the Park - once a month barbeques from May to September; summer day camp for young people who live in the city; St. Peter's Food Bank; NeighbourLink; and distribution of Star Christmas Boxes. We also work co-operativeIy with the Enoch Turner Schoolhouse, now operated by a separate board.
NeighbourLink
A ministries of five downtown churches, NeighbourLink is a ministry sponsored by World Vision which connects volunteers to people who have specific needs they have difficulty meeting on their own: a drive to a doctor's appointment, tutoring, repairs, etc. Little Trinity volunteers respond to 100s of requests received at NeighbourLink.
Food Bank
Little Trinity food donations are delivered regularly to a local food bank. Most of us take for granted the necessities of life but when all you have is the bare essentials, the food received from the food bank is a blessing. Tuna, salmon, canned ham, stews, chunky soups, beans in sauce, packaged dinners, powdered milk, peanut butter are always needed.
